Racism is embedded in various things such as Laws, education, ability to access anything, where privilege is always on the white persons side. It's shameful that blacks have fought in wars that lead to America "really being great" and many were on the front line. They are still not treated equal neither by government or other citizens.
Knowing that this song has racist connotations, it should be removed from the ice cream trucks all over the world!
Educate yourself. This song is a British folk song from the 1800's and some "entertainers" in the US over 100 years later used the tune and added their own lyrics, which is quite common really. I drive an ice cream truck and kids of all sizes, shapes, and colors come running. It is not racist. It's fun.
