Description
Two-handled, circular-footed, covered cup with imperial crown finial on a cylindrical black-plastic pedestal; one side of body is engraved "TO / BOBBY & LOIS BURNS / THE / AD ASTRA AWARD / JUBILEE - 1959 / Tupperware Home Parties Inc." Made as an inseparable unit, connected by a threaded rod that extends from finial to base and is secured with a hexagonal nut. Circular, silver-colored maker's label adhered to underside of base beneath nut. With display case, 2002.0274.01B.
Maker is L. G. Balfour Company; business started by Lloyd Garfield Balfour in Attleboro, MA, in 1913 as a maker of fraternity and sorority jewelry and is now part of of Commemorative Brands, Inc., a subsidiary of American Achievement Corporation, headquartered in Austin, TX.
