Found a dried out bottle of Genuine Mother Seigel’s Syrup for Dyspepsia in cupboard of house we were cleaning out. Printed in Canada.
Came across a mention for this in Daisy Ashford's early 2oth century work, when, in "The Hangman's Daughter & other stories", the heroine begs to go abroad - "you know I have been much stronger since taking Mother Segals (sic) syrup."!!
Hello - just as a possible point of interest I found a bottle of AJ Whites Curative Syrup in quite good condition in bay just north of Denham Western Australia (in case it's of interest to someone regarding location?).
"It was known in Australia in 1879, and much advertised though the 1880s.First reference :-Launceston Examiner (Tasmania. : 1842 - 1899)Monday 20 October 1879, Page 1http://trove.nla.gov.au/ndp/del/article/47803035"
