This tinted lithograph of “Rio Colorado Near Mojave Villages, View No. 111 from the Right Bank, Looking East" was produced by Sarony, Major & Knapp (1857-1867), New York, after an original sketch by expedition artist J. J. Young (ca 1830-1879) from a sketch by A. H. Campbell (1826-1899). It was printed as a plate in Volume III, Part II, following page 135, in the "Report on the Topographical Features and Character of the Country," part of the "Route Near the 35th Parallel, Under the Command of Lieutenant A. W. Whipple (1817-1863), Topographical Engineers, in 1853 and 1854."

Description (Brief)

The volume was printed as part of the "Reports of Explorations and Surveys, to ascertain the most practicable and economical route for a railroad from the Mississippi River to the Pacific Ocean" in 1856 by A. P. O. Nicholson (1808-1876) of Washington, D.C.
