Track baton used by Bob Wobbrock at Gardena High School, Los Angeles, California
- Description (Brief)
- Robert Wobbrock attended Gardena High School in California from 1953 to 1956. A typical kid of the fifties, he lettered in football and track and proudly wore this letterman’s sweater his senior year. On April 29, 1955, while a junior, Bob was the anchor for an 8-man mile relay against rival, Westchester High. Although the baton was dropped, Bob pulled his team together at the end to win. This baton was signed by all members of the winning team including the coaches of the Gardena High track team.
