- Description (Brief)
- Robert Wobbrock attended Gardena High School in California from 1953 to 1956. A typical kid of the fifties, he lettered in football and track. He received this letter during his junior year hence the one winged foot representing track and the two stars embroidered on the letter. For each year someone lettered in a varsity sport they would receive a letter with the year indicated in the amount of “athletic symbols or stars” embroidered on the letter. This practiced changed sometime during the 1970s and the athlete was given one letter throughout their high school career and given a gold bar for each subsequent year.
