side 1: Frank Luther. California Blues (Blue Yodel No. 4); side 2: Frank Luther and Carson Robison. Goin' Back To Texas (Oriole 1593).
78 rpm. Both tracks were released on various Plaza Music Company labels.
Oriole Records was an American budget record label sold exclusively by McCrory Stores from 1921 to 1938.
The Plaza Music Company was formed in New York City with the Banner Record label, in 1922. The company acquired several smaller labels in the 1920s including Domino, Jewel, Oriole, and Regal. In 1929, the Plaza Music Company, Cameo Record Corporation, and Pathé Phonograph and Radio Corporation merged into the American Record Corporation (ARC). Plaza began a single matrix series for all of its labels in 1923, beginning with 5000. ARC would continue using this system after the merger.
