Parabolic Arch Puzzle
- Description
- This wooden puzzle requires arranging fifteen blocks around a parabolic core with the top edge in the shape of a parabola, forming an arch. The core may be removed.
- Architects have used parabolic arches in structures, especially bridges, since at least the nineteenth century. The donor acquired the model for use in a mathematics course for non-mathematics majors.
