Ed Brinkman

Description:

Ed Brinkman was one of many players featured on collectible coins made by Topps and included in packs of baseball cards.

Shortstop Ed Brinkman played Major League Baseball for the Washington Senators (1961-1970) and Detroit Tigers (1971-1974,) before ending his career playing for three clubs in the 1975 season, the St. Louis Cardinals, Texas Rangers and New York Yankees. An All-Star and Gold Glove recipient with the Tigers, Brinkman compiled a lifetime .224 batting average with 60 home runs and 461 runs batted in.

The native Ohioan later served as a minor league manager and major league coach, most notably with the Chicago White Sox.
