Reginald "Reggie" Martinez Jackson (b.1946) played Major League baseball from 1967-1981, starring for the Oakland Athletics (1967-1975, 1987) Baltimore Orioles (1976,) New York Yankees (1977-1981) and California Angels (1982-1986.) Known as "Mr. October" for his postseason performances, Jackson played on Five World Series Champions, taking home two World Series Most Valuable Player trophies. A 14 time All-Star and 1973’s American League Most Valuable Player, Jackson hit 563 home runs over the course of his career.
Jackson had a lifetime .262 batting average with 2,584 hits and 1,702 runs batted in. Often finding himself at the center of controversy, Jackson was one of the premiere celebrity athletes of his generation. He was elected into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1993.
