Model of Human Eye
Model of Human Eye
- Description
- This large papier mache model of a human eye was made in the Auzoux factory in Normandy, France. It has several detachable parts, and an inked inscription that reads “Auzoux Doct. / fecit anno 1856.” The Smithsonian bought this in 1895, probably paying $20 (duty free). There was obviously a fairly long lapse between production and sale.
