Description
Lidless bulbous or bellied measure with galleried rim and cast circular foot; half gallon size. Bead-and-groove band at shoulder; faint line visible at seam. S-scroll, crank or ridged handle tapers to a short terminal with small oval strut. Stamped incuse on front "½ / GALLON" in serif letters across neck and "2 / QUART" in sans serif letters on belly. Rim exterior stamped to left of handle "HALF / [G]ALL[ON]" next to a crowned "VR" verification mark for London County ("349 / LCC"), and on front with crowned "ER" and "VR" marks for Oxford County ("367") along with six letter-number pairs. No maker's marks.
