Description
This spring scale measures up to 5 kilograms, with 25 gram divisions. The inscriptions read “JOHN CHATILLON & SONS / NEW YORK” and “U.S.C. & G.S. No. G313.” The U.S. Coast & Geodetic Survey acquired this scale in 1922, and transferred it to the Smithsonian in 1929.
