Description
Analytical balance with 12-inch beam, agate bearings, 3-inch diameter pans, and ivory scale inscribed “BECKER & SONS / NEW YORK.” The case is mahogany with glass sides, a drawer in the bottom, and an “EIMER AMEND / NEW YORK CITY” tag at the top. Becker & Sons were in business in New York in the late 1850s, and again from 1865 to 1884.
