Description
This pyrometer measures the thermal expansion of metals. The form resembles that introduced in 1830 by the English scientist, John Frederic Daniell (1790-1845). The "L. Golaz, Constr. 24, rue des Fosses St Jacques, Paris 1875" inscription is that of Edme Louis Golaz, a French instrument maker who began in business in 1830, died in 1891, and was succeeded by his son.
