Description
The temperature element of this thermograph is an alcohol filled Bourdon tube. One metal tag on the base reads "JULIEN P. FRIEZ & SONS / BELFORT METEOROLOGICAL OBSERVATORY / 1230 E. BALTIMORE STREET / BALTIMORE / MD. U.S.A." Another reads "THERMOGRAPH / TYPE ML18 / SERIAL 129 / SIGNAL CORPS / U.S. ARMY / ORDER 110,445 / DATE 6-26-23."
Julien P. Friez began in business in Baltimore in 1893. The firm becam Julien P. Friez & Son in 1913, and Julien P. Friez & Sons in 1914.
