Two small lenses in metal frames. One paper label in the case reads “"Karl Erps / Opticus / Frankfurt a. M. / 31 Zeil 31." Another—in German, French and English—explains how this “patent far seer” can be used to see objects at a distance. The donor, Charlotte B. Ward, said it had belonged to her father, Henry B. Ward, or her grandfather, Richard Halsted Ward.
