Description
"THEORIA LUNAE, EIUS MOTUM PER ECCENTRICUM ET EPICYCLUM DEMONSTRANS" shows the orbit of the moon around the earth with epicycles. This is image #18 from the Harmonia Macrocosmica created by Andreas Cellarius (1596-1665), a cosmographer and cartographer in the Netherlands. The “Apud GERARDIUM VALK et PETRUM SCHENCK Amstelodam” inscription indicates that it is from the republished edition of 1708, and not the original edition of 1660.
