Description
The U.S. Weather Bureau transferred this aneroid barograph to the Smithsonian in 1955. The “M. HIPP / NEUCHATEL / SUISSE / 7243” inscription is that of Matthaus Hipp (1813-1893), a German clockmaker who moved to Switzerland in 1853.
