Library of Congress Punch Card, IBM 851727

Usage conditions apply
The late 1960s were a time of rapid change in cataloging and circulating processes at the U.S. Library of Congress. Computers were introduced to prepare catalog records for libraries across the nation and to track distributing books sent out on interlibrary loan. This is one such card. It is for a volume with catalog number AS182 B38 A323 CP3 with brief title AKADEMIE DEUTSCHE AKADEMIE WISSEN sent out in September of 1967 to borrower 0S500. A mark on the bottom edge of the card reads: IBM 851727. This is slightly earlier than the Library of Congress punch cards with catalog numbers 2002.3058.02, 2002.3058.03, and 2002.3058.04.
