Obverse Text: Romanization: MEIJI / SAN / JU / SHICHI / NEN / DAI / NIHON / 5 / SEN (Translation: Year 37 of Meiji Great Japan 5 Sen).
Reverse Image: Chrysanthemum Flower (Coat of Arms & Emperor's Royal Seal) On either side of the value (5 Sen) are branches of Paulownia Flower (left) and Chrysanthemum Flower (Right).
Reverse Text: Romanization: GO / SEN (Translation: Five Sen)
