- Venue map included with a promotional package for Pyeongchang, South Korea's 2014 Olympic bid is blue and depicts the Olympic venues located in Pyeongchang, South Korea. Pyeongchang, South Korea was on the short list to become the host city for the 2014 Winter Olympics but lost to Sochi, Russia. The dry climate, heavy use of snow machines, short runs and the non tourist destination were cited as some of the reasons why Pyeongchang didn't get the bid in 2014. The addition of seven winter Olympic sports venues and more tourist attractions helped Pyeongchang win to host the 2018 Winter Olympics.
