Obverse Image: Bamboo Paulownia (Kiri crest) wreath to the right and left of the Red Cross emblem, above a phoenix O-tori, all surrounded in a pearled border.

Reverse Image: Two lines of Kanji.
Reverse Text: Romanization: MEIJI / NI / JU / ICHI / NEN / NIHON / SEKI / JU / JISHA (Translation: Meiji 21st year, Japan Red Cross).

Hello! I´d like to inform you that this object is not a coin, but rather part of a medal. Originally it should have had a red ribbon with white stripes and a bottom in the same colors. The ribbon was clamped to the upper part of the medal, instead of being attached to a ring, as would be usual in western decorations.
