Description (Brief)
Fashion sketch in pencil and watercolors on heavyweight drawing paper for woman’s costume from the 1952 MGM musical film Singing’ in the Rain. The sketch is by costume designer Walter Plunkett and was for Rita Moreno’s character. The woman in the drawing is wearing a flapper style cloche that is blue with a long pink feather. Her dress is half pink and half blue. She is wearing blue gloves and blue shoes with pink bows, and she is carrying a bi-colored clutch. Two fabric swatches, pink and blue, are stapled to the top of the drawing. On the reverse side of the fashion drawing is a sketch of a similar dress with blue and pink horizontal stripes and a long pink feather on her cloche hat.
