NEC Spinwriter printer 5515

Description:

This was a common impact printer used in the early 1980's (It was superseded by non-impact or laser printers in the mid-1980's). The Spinwriter was unique amongst impact printers in that it used a printer "thimble". It could be changed (similar to changing the ball on an IBM Selectric Typewriter). The more common technology for impact printers was a "daisy wheel".

Documentation relating to the printer is stored separately.
