Hand balance with 4.5-inch iron beam, iron index, shallow copper pans 1.5 inches diameter, and 12 square brass weights in such units as Carlin, Ducat, Maxd, Pistol and Sever. The whole fits in a rectangular wooden case; a paper inside the lid is marked: “Rechtabgezogen Waag und Gewicht... von Sr. KONIGL MAJEST. In PREUSSEN allergnäc privilegivt- und examinivter auch geschworner Icht Macher ABRAHAM KRUSE, zu Schwelm in der Grassschft Marck. Anno 1788.”
While in the Netherlands in 1960, Bruno Kisch acquired this for the new National Museum of History and Technology.
