Description
Pot-bellied flagon or pichet with a double-acorn thumb piece and scroll-tip wedge extension burnt to the overhanging, heart-shaped, pouted lid. Plain, slightly flared rim and incised, flared base. Strap handle with short square terminal; hinge pin domed on one end and impressed with bullseye on the other. Dotted punchwork letter "I" or "H" (sideways) on outside of lid and "BH" on face of handle. Neck stamped below front lip with a crowned "C" indicating common quality pewter.
