Half Gill Measure
- Description
- Handleless and lidless bulbous or bellied measure; half gill size. Molded rim and plain, flared base. Two pairs of incised lines around body. Front of body stamped "HALF GILL" in incuse serif letters. Rim exterior with at least thirteen marks, including "HALF GILL" in incuse sans serif letters, partially erased and overstruck with Victorian, Edwardian and George IV verification marks, one for Ashton-under-Lyne ("417").
