Covered Cup

Description:

Two-handled raised urn with repousse and punchwork floral decoration on a pedestal base with compressed ball stem and flared-and-domed foot; removable, circular stepped cover has large threaded opening for cylindrical reservoir below. Cast bead-and-scroll molding is applied to the everted rim; and cast openwork reeded baluster handles have leafy terminals. Underside of flat bottom struck with three marks, what appear to be the raised gothic or Old English letters "K", "D" and "S(?)" in five-pointed shields. No marks on cover.
