- Description
- Oblong, rounded rectangular, niello case with overall, delicate scrolling vines and tendrils on a stippled ground, interrupted only by an empty, central, circular reserve with bright-cut borders on its spring-loaded, hinged lid. Circular push-button catch. Gold washed interior has two, thin, elastic retainers. Inside lid is struck with "84" in a clipped-corner surround, city mark of St. George slaying the dragon in conforming surround and the raised Cyrillic letters "П.А" in rectangle; inside back half is struck with assayer's mark "[В.С] / 1886" in rectangle, "84" in clipped-corner surround, St. George slaying the dragon, and "П.А" in rectangle.
