Stanford Moore (1913-1982) acquired this kjeldahl flask when he was a graduate student in organic chemistry at the University of Wisconsin. The flask had been used in Stephen M. Babcock's lab when he was working on a method to estimate the quantity of butterfat in milk. Moore won the Nobel Prize for Chemistry in 1972.
