Mainframe Computer Component, SEAC Paper Tape Spooler

Description:

By 1957, mechanisms existed at the Bureau of Standards for transferring data on paper tape and on punch cards onto the wire cartridges used with the SEAC. This motor presumably was used in the conversion process. It is in a cubical metal box with a metal handle on the top and an attached cord.
