Description (Brief):

Shoulder straps worn by John Rutter Brooke when he held the rank of colonel of the 53rd Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry in the Union Army during the American Civil War. The two shoulder straps feature a metallic thread eagle on a tan background with a metallic thread border. Brooke was colonel of the 53rd PA from 1861-1864.
