Model 1832 Coatee
- Description
- Army field-grade officer's coatee, Artillery, Model 1832. Blue and red wool double breasted subaltern artillery coat with two rows of 10 gold plated brass eagle buttons with the letter "A" down the front, 4 on each cuff, four buttons on the side of the collar, and 1 button on shoulder. There are 8 buttons on each coat tail and two buttons at waist. The collar is trimmed on the front with gold lace bands and red piping. There are metallic straps on shoulders. Cuffs have 4 bands of metallic lace and red piping. The coat tails have four bands of metallic lace and piping on each. There is brass "A" eagle button at the end of each coat tail at turnback. The jacket is unlined in the back. The front and collar is lined with red twill wool and slightly padded. The tails are lined with a coarser red twill wool. The sleeves are lined with cream colored cotton. No pockets in tails.
