- Description (Brief)
- Bronze medal commemorating the 400th anniversary of the "Christian colonization" of Puerto Rico by Ponce de Leon in 1508. The cased medal bears the image of a bearded man in armor and a plumed helmet. Around him are the words "Juan Ponce de Leon Explorador Conquistador Poblado Y Gobernador Primero del Boriquen" and the years 1508 and 1908. On the verso, a woman in a classical gown is shown planting a cross on a beach near a ship and palm tree, surrounded by the words "Coloizacion Christiana de Puerto Rico" and "Cuarto Centenario."
