Description
These model 1860 type II mounted trousers would have been worn by a musician in a U.S. Army Artillery regiment. Pair of sky blue wool twill trousers with a six button fly and six large buttons around the waist. Buttons are tin. There are two vertical slash pockets and a watch pocket on the right side of the waist. The waistband facing is cotton twill and pockets are coarse twill. There is a "V" shaped slit, which is sewn shut, and two eyelet holes for waist adjustment at the rear of the waistband. There are two rows of 3/4" red wool tape from the waistband to the cuff on the outside seam of each leg. The trousers are unlined. There is a second layer of wool kersey reinforcement from the seat to the cuffs. There is a one inch slit at the bottom of the outer seam of each trouser leg. There are 2 small tin buttons on each seam inside of each cuff of the trouser legs. There are 3 circular sizing dots and the initials "E.A." on both the left and right back of waistband facing. There is a red "3" written in red on the right pocket.
