- A frontal portrait of Ernest Hinds depicted as Major General, First Army Artillery, Chief of Artillery, A. E. F. An oil painting on an illustration board. A white man, Major General Hinds is balding with some hair on the back. He has blue eyes and wears glasses. He is using an olive drab officer tunic with a Sam Browne belt, but only the top portions are seen. Two U.S. Officer collar insignias are seen on the collars, and two stars are seen on the shoulder straps of the tunic indicating his rank as Major General. The rest of the tunic is not sketched or painted. The Major General's signature can be seen on the bottom of the portrait.
