- Oil on illustration board. Portrait of Sergeant James. B. Lepley. Army Service Ribbons for Decorations and Medals include: Distinguished Service Cross. Lepley wears a belt with a magazine pouch, a M1917 hemet with the chipstrap resting above the front rim, and possibly a fourragére (worn by soldiers who were assigned to units that were awarded certain decorations by the French government for valorous conduct in WWI). Lepley also wears a unknown collar disk and holds a ciggarette in his left hand. His left hand has not been filled in with color.
