Pershing wears his AEF uniform with four gold stars on his shoulder and a brown leather Sam Browne Belt across his chest. He wears the insignia of the United States Army on his collar. His hair and moustache are gray and he is looking to the right of the viewer. Signed at bottom left by Pershing in red crayon. Signed at bottom right by the artist, Joseph Cummings Chase.
