Pink cotton t-shirt worn by a participant in the Susan G. Komen 9th Annual National Race For the Cure, held in Washington, DC, on June 6, 1998. Pink t-shirts are worn by breast cancer survivors. This shirt has two paper tags attached to it by safety pins. The tag on the front of the shirt indicates the participant's registration number,1726, and includes the names and logos of the race sponsors. The tag on the back of the shirt reads: "I RACE FOR THE CURE IN Memory Of " (hand written in black pen) "TENSIA ALVIREZ" and "in celebration of" (signed) "Jane. Joan. Madeleine. Josephine. Mary. Maya. Ann. Karen. Catherine".
