The object is a political cartoon hand-drawn on white paper by Clifford Berryman in Washington, D.C. circa 1928. The drawing depicts John J. Raskob, Chairman of the Democratic National Committee, writing a document that reads "I don't care who your convention delegates are if I can write the platform." Berryman signed the drawing in the lower right area of the illustration.
Raskob was an American financier and industrialist who was Chairman of the Democratic National Committee from 1928-1932.
The inscriptions "Saturday Cartoon" and number 440 within an oval represent Berryman information that we are currently seeking to understand.
