Description (Brief)
This engraved wood block was used to print an image in the publication "United States Exploring Expedition, During the Years 1838, 1839, 1840, 1841, 1842, Volume IX, The Races of Men: and their Geographical Distribution," 1848, Chapter 25, "Antiquities and Introduced Animals and Plants of the Hindoostan," page 353, heiroglyphics. The image was drawn and engraved by unknown artists. It was originally printed by C. Sherman of Philadelphia.
