1854 George and Mary Flower's Pieced Quilt Top

This patchwork quilt top is made of 3"-long diamonds sewn by overcasting; paper templates were used, a few scraps of paper remain. A white hexagon is appliqued over 3 diamonds in the center. Some patches are lined with glazed white cotton.
It is inscribed: "George and Mary Flower. The gift and work of the Mother. England. 1854." The design, unnamed, is shown in Godey's Magazine and Lady's Book, April 1850, pp. 285-286.
