The Zeiss Ikon Polytest, widely available by the early 1960s, was described as a compact, portable and durable instrument suitable for high-speed water analyses by color comparison. The inscription on this example reads "ZEISS / IKON / POLYTEST / Made in Germany / Chlorator / 130760."
