This music box was made by Regina Music Box Co. in Rahway, New Jersey, around 1899-1900. It is a Disc-Changing Orchestral Corona model No. 33, serial #47649. The music box has a double comb of 86 teeth. The music box plays 27” diameter perforated metal discs. The Orchestral Corona model No. 33 can play up to 12 discs sequentially. There are 2 hand cranked springs, one to turn the disc and one to run the changing mechanism. Accessioned with matching base on castors, with two doors in the front revealing 6 sliding drawers for storing discs (MI.72.25.01) and 56, 27” diameter discs (MI.72.26.01- MI.72.26.56)
