Bakelite box marked “KEM / Kem Plastic Playing Cards Inc. / New York / Made in U.S.A.” and dated 1938. The Kem Plastic Playing Cards Inc. introduced the word “KEM” to commerce in 1934; advertised KEM cards as germ resistant in 1937; and showed KEM cards at the New York World’s Fair of 1939.
