Description (Brief)
The princess is exquisitively dressed in a ruffled pink silk dress adorned with black lace, fine gold mesh trim and a silk rose. Her body and appendages are made of wood and her face is made of molded felt. Her blond hair is topped with a felt gold crown and her face is finely painted. She is worked with eight strings and two bars. Probably of Italian provenance, this beautiful marionette dates to around 1900.
This marionette, dressed like a princess, is probably one of a pair with The Prince marionette (1979.1164.03). They appear to have been made by the same artisan.
