- Description (Brief)
- The princess is exquisitively dressed in a ruffled pink silk dress adorned with black lace, fine gold mesh trim and a silk rose. Her body and appendages are made of wood and her face is made of molded felt. Her blond hair is topped with a felt gold crown and her face is finely painted. She is worked with eight strings and two bars. Probably of Italian provenance, this beautiful marionette dates to around 1900.
- This marionette, dressed like a princess, is probably one of a pair with The Prince marionette (1979.1164.03). They appear to have been made by the same artisan.
