Description (Brief)
This sheet music for the song “Mopsy Massey of Tallahassee” was written by Willis Leonard Clanahan, and composed and published by Anita Comfort of New York, New York in 1898. This sheet music appeared as a supplement to the “New York Herald” on April 26, 1903. The music features a stereotyped caricature of a barefoot black woman at the top, presumably “Mopsy Massy.”
