- Description (Brief)
- This 1970s era pinback button for the Houston Astros baseball team features a depiction of the Astrodome, the club’s original home. First known as the Harris County Domed Stadium, the arena opened in 1965, with the Houston Colt.45s as tenants. The club was renamed the Astros and the arena the Astrodome. At the time of its opening, the Astrodome was the first domed sports complex in the world, making it known as “The Eighth Wonder of the World.” The Astros final season in the Astrodome was 1999.
