Description (Brief)
1964 Topps round, metal, silver colored bottlecap #44 with a color photograph of Billy Williams, outfielder for the Chicago Cubs on the front and statistics on reverse. Billy Williams was one of many All-Stars featured on milk bottle caps to encourage fans to acquire each cap in the collection.
Billy Williams was a left fielder well known for his consistent batting average who played for the Cubs (1959-74) and the Athletics (1975-76). Between 1961 and 1973, he hit twenty home runs or more in thirteen consecutive seasons. In 1961, he was named the National League’s Rookie of the Year and played in the All Star games in 1962, 1964, 1965, 1968, 1972, and 1973. In 1987, he was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame.
