Billy Williams was one of many players featured on collectible coins made by Topps and included in packs of baseball cards.
Williams (b. 1938) played outfield in Major League Baseball for the Chicago Cubs (1959-74) and Oakland Athletics (1975-76). 1961’s National League’s Rookie of the Year, Williams was a six-time All-Star and 1972’s batting champion.
Finishing with a lifetime.290 average, 426 home runs and 1,475 runs batted in, the long-time Cub was elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1987.
